The 2025/26 season gets underway this Saturday as The Puritans make the short journey to Stratford Town. It’s derby day to open the campaign, and both teams will be eager to start the new season with a strong performance.

Banbury head into the fixture off the back of a positive pre-season, with new faces settling in and healthy competition across the squad. With a solid platform to build from, the team will be aiming to begin their league campaign with three points.

Stratford Town, led by manager Paul Davis, will be looking to make a strong statement on home soil. The Bards have enjoyed a productive summer, with positive results in pre-season including wins over Brackley Town (2–1) and Racing Club Warwick (2–0). Among their summer signings is former Banbury forward AJ George, who adds extra interest to Saturday’s clash. Banbury will need to be sharp against a well-organised side that has continued to make steady progress in recent seasons.
