A difficult evening for the Puritans as Oxford United struck six

Banbury United suffered a heavy defeat as Oxford United Academy secured a commanding 6-0 victory. The visitors dominated throughout, showcasing their clinical finishing, while Banbury struggled to convert their chances.

Oxford United got off to a flying start with Snowden opening the scoring early on. His composed finish set the tone for the evening as the visitors began to assert their dominance. Marselino doubled the lead soon after, capitalizing on defensive lapses. In the 23rd minute, Marselino struck again to give Oxford a commanding 3-0 advantage by the halfway point of the first half.

Banbury created a notable chance in the 25th minute when George Ball’s effort floated over the bar following a spilled save by Knightsbridge. Claudio Dias tested the Oxford keeper from range in the 40th minute, but the shot was comfortably dealt with.
Banbury’s woes deepened just before halftime when Twariq Yusuf pulled up with a hamstring injury, forcing him to be substituted for Lennon Ison.

Oxford resumed their dominance immediately after the restart. Snowden scored his second goal in the 47th minute, extending the lead to 4-0. Bradney then took center stage, adding goals in the 53rd and 86th minutes to complete the rout.

Banbury had opportunities to get on the scoresheet in the second half. Charlie Donaldson missed their best chance in the 59th minute, dragging his shot wide from 10 yards. George Ball’s volley in the 60th minute was saved by Knightsbridge, and a potential goal in the 66th minute was ruled out for offside.

Banbury made multiple substitutions in the 68th minute, introducing fresh legs in an attempt to spark a revival, but Oxford's defense remained impenetrable.
