Banbury United is recruiting a new General Manager. Click here for the full job description, salary information and for details of how to apply. The closing date for applications is May 27th 2024.

Reporting into the Board, this new General Manager position will provide leadership and exemplary professional standards in facilities, safety and events management, to enhance the delivery of the future vision for Banbury United Football Club.

The General Manager will be the most senior employed position within the Club, with responsibility for all operational and administrative affairs, including: matchday management, facilities management, finance, food & beverage operations, events and functions, football administration, people management and HR, administration, health & safety, and risk and compliance.

The successful candidate will have leadership experience of small- to medium-sized businesses and or operations; experience of running a sports club, or in venue management and hospitality or complex operations; and they will bring industry-recognised qualifications in health and safety and / or crowd management.

Wayne Farrell, Chairman of Banbury United FC, says, “As many of our members will know, the General Manager role has been an on and off discussion topic over recent years. Our recent relegation and inability to sustain ourselves as a Club in the National League has highlighted more than ever the need for a dedicated management provision at Banbury United.

“The task of running the Club currently falls to volunteers working around full-time jobs and the result is dissatisfaction and frustration for everyone! It is essential to a strong future that we prioritise the state of the Club off the pitch, with a view to Club-wide stabilisation and re-setting, even if that investment means a tighter budget on the pitch, short term. I believe I speak for everyone involved at Banbury United – members, volunteers, supporters and sponsors – that something fundamental had to change. This is a very exciting step for us all that will result in increased revenue, which can be passed to our teams. We believe we have a competitive and attractive offer and look forward to meeting suitable candidates as soon as possible. Our aim is that spectators will report seeing a very different Banbury United when they arrive for our 2024-25 pre-season matches.”
