CBS Members were advised at the recent meeting in May that negotiations were well advanced for the sub-letting of part of the Clubhouse End car park to the Buckingham Group who are the contractors for the railway work taking place close to the ground.
The club can now confirm that this sub-letting contract has now been signed and is for a period of 20 months.
The Buckingham Group will be putting some temporary portakabins in the car park and also be using a specified area of the car park for parking of their vehicles during this period. The portakabins are likely to be going in next week and though these will obviously reduce the amount of car parking available at the clubhouse end, the agreement is that the fencing for their vehicle car parking will be taken down for matchdays to minimise the inconvenience to supporters.
As well as the purely financial benefits to the Football Club of the sub-letting contract, which are substantial, the Buckingham Group have also agreed to help us out with some works around the ground such as replacing some concreted areas which are crumbling and also to improve the Clubhouse End Car Park.
Whilst the club appreciates that the loss of some car parking space at the Clubhouse End is not ideal, your management board are confident from positive meetings and discussions that they can work closely with the Buckingham Group to minimise the inconvenience and believe that given the circumstances that this is the correct course of action to take.
Finally Banbury United are very appreciative of the excellent support given to the club by Faccenda Property Limited, our landlord, in enabling the club to enter into this agreement.
