By doing absolutely nothing apart from signing up to easyfundraising and going about their regular online shopping, nine active easyfundraising users have contributed £56 to the Club since the beginning of September.

From little acorns, mighty oaks grow!

easyfundraising is a free fundraising platform that allows us to earn money when we shop online. It works with over 7,000 online retailers, everyone from Tesco, eBay, Sports Direct, M&S, Boots, Just Eat, Booking.com, and everything in between.

All supporters need to do is click on the link to the easyfundraising page for Banbury United here: www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/banbury-united-fc/ and set up an account. It only takes two minutes and all you need is your email address.

When asked, choose to install the “donation reminder” and then, every time you visit a participating website, it automatically provides a donation to Banbury United FC if you buy something. You don’t need to do anything or pay any extra money!

BUFC board director, Claire Dumbreck, said: “The Club only has nine active users at the moment but the shopping of those nine people, topped up by an opening promotion from easyfundraising, has resulted in the equivalent ticket income of three adults and a concession to a National League North match.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day and this is an incredibly encouraging early illustration of the huge potential of easyfundraising to bring funds into the Club. Just imagine if four or five hundred supporters signed up! If you care about Banbury United and shop online, you should sign up to easyfundraising without delay – it’s a no-brainer.

“Following the launch last month and an email to Club members, thirty people have signed up to our cause who have not donated yet. We don’t think this is because they’ve not been shopping. It’s important to install the donation reminder then you never have to think about it again.

“Using easyfundraising is very rewarding. They email you with updates on how much you have contributed to the Club and it motivates you to choose retailers who are signed up to easyfundraising.”
