John Nicholls announced as away kit sponsor for season 2015-16

The Interim Board of Banbury United is delighted to confirm that John Nicholls will sponsor the first team away kit for the 2015-16 season in a five figure sum deal.

John Nicholls were the main sponsor for the club for six seasons up to 2010/11.

“It is great news that Nicholls have agreed to support the club as it starts its exciting new journey as a supporter owned club” said interim club Chairman Ronnie Johnson. “Nicholls are a fantastic example of a highly successful local business who have stayed close to their roots and the Banbury community and are currently celebrating their 50th year of trading which is an incredible achievement. We hope that with their backing we can do the same and repay the faith they have in us to take the club forwards.”

The first team will wear the away kit at all away games, unless there is a clash of colours

The sponsorship deal is a five figure sum.

Commenting on the sponsorship Andrew Nicholls, CEO of John Nicholls said “In more recent years we have helped the club pay bills such as utilities and settling outstanding debts but we are now delighted to once again become a main sponsor of Banbury United as they enter a new chapter in the club’s history. As an independent Building & Plumbing Merchant our ethos is always to support the local community that has helped establish us as a leading business since 1965. The change of ownership of the club to a supporter owned model very much fits with our philosophy of working with local people for the benefit of Banbury as a town. Through our investment off the pitch the club has the potential to generate more revenue which in turn can only benefit the team on the pitch and the supporters in general. All in all the change to a Community owned club is fantastic news for the town and the Nicholls business is thrilled to be fully involved”

The team continue their league campaign in the Southern League South & West on Saturday 22nd August with a trip to Cinderford Town. Their next home fixture is against Evesham United on Holiday Monday 31st August 3.00pm kick-off.
