Local aerospace composites manufacturer, Safran CTG, is Banbury United’s new Community Sponsor. The partnership was formed following meetings where Safran’s managers were taken through the wide-ranging community initiatives at the Club.
In addition to sponsorship and strong brand signage around The Spencer Stadium - powered by egg, Safran staff will attend the ground for volunteering days, supporting the grounds team. They will also work with Banbury United’s community coach, providing educational material, and plan to be a ‘hands on’ part of a number Club community-based initiatives.
Carina Mardenborough, Culture and CSR Partner at Safran, said, “We are delighted to have Banbury United as an official community partner of Safran. Safran’s community programme is focussed on volunteering, fundraising, mental health, STEM and sustainability – all areas in which the team at Banbury United is working.”
Located on Chalker Way in Banbury, Crompton Technology Group Limited, a Safran Electronics & Defense company, makes composites for fuel pipes and transmission shafts for civil and military aircraft. Key customers include Airbus and Boeing.
Paul McGrath, Operations Lead at Safran CTG explained, “One of our colleagues, Martin Kennedy, has volunteered at Banbury United for a long time and he introduced the company to the Club. A few of us now come to matches and we really enjoyed the match recent match against St Ives.”
It’s great to have you on board, Safran CTG. Thank you for backing us.
