
Dean began his football career at Walsall where he progressed through the ranks making his senior debut in March 2005. The following season he went on loan from Walsall to Halesowen Town.
Following his release from Walsall in May 2006, after making two Football League appearances, Dean then spent time at Bromsgrove Rovers and Willenhall Town before he joined Conference National side Kidderminster Harriers in the summer of 2007, making 38 Conference National appearances for them over the course of three seasons.
Season 2010/11 would see Dean have spells at Halesowen Town, Redditch United and Worcester City before he re-joined Redditch for the start of season 2011/12. After being released by Redditch at the end of last season he signed for Evesham United during this past summer.
By making his debut for Banbury at Hitchin on Saturday, Dean became the fifth goalkeeper to play in the Southern League for Banbury this season.
