24-year-old Versatile attacker Twariq Yusuf has signed to play for Banbury United and is available for selection for today’s match. Twariq was the triallist who scored Banbury United’s first goal against Henley Town in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

The Tanzanian player was originally a member of the GPS Oxford Football Academy. He played in the Uhlsport Hellenic League for Ardley United before signing for Southern Division One Central club Kidlington in early October 2020. After impressing in the close season of 2021, he was signed by Brackley Town. Twariq went onto make 31 appearances in his debut season with the Saints, scoring three goals in the National League North; however, opportunities in the 2022/23 season were limited and he spent time on loan at North Leigh before being released at the end of the season. Yusuf then joined back up with his former boss Kevin Wilkin at Telford in 23/24 season helping them finish in the playoff places.

Yusuf is also a Tanzania international and made two caps in March 2024, both on the bench in friendly matches over Mongolia and Bulgaria.

Twariq featured for Banbury in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup as a triallist on Tuesday against Henley Town. He opened the scoring at the back post early in the first half. Yusuf has signed league forms and is in contention for today’s home fixture versus Stourbridge.
