U18 Development team player, Zach Scott, will join the first time in their away National League North fixture against Southport today. He will start on the bench as part of Mark Jones’ squad.

Zach is described by U18 Development’s co-manager Carl Ashford as “a hugely versatile, skilful player who likes to entertain. He plays as a full back, wing back or forward, has a wand of a left foot and great finishing ability.”

Zach Scott’s call-up follows on from U18 teammate Tyra Aitken’s debut for Banbury United’s men in the team’s pre-season match against Oxford City. In addition, a few U18s join the men for training as part of experiencing the fitness, preparation and matchday routines of a first team player.

It’s great to see the close collaboration between the development and first teams, and for such opportunities to be on offer to those coming through the ranks.

As Zach and the NLN team depart Banbury for Southport, the U18 team will kick off their MJPL fixture against Rugby Borough at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium at 1030. If you’re not making the trip to the northwest, why not come down to the ground and give them your support?
