Banbury United Community Football Club held their first Christmas Dinner for The Spencer Group/Age Concern yesterday, Wednesday. The dinner was a great success and everyone who came had a wonderful time. A visit from Santa and his helpers, a raffle, Christmas games and a sing-a-long all contributed to what was a fantastic afternoon of festivities.
Ronnie Johnson, Club Chairman, welcomed everyone and was delighted the club was able to host its first Christmas Dinner for the local community commenting. “After the difficult number of years we have all encountered it was a wonderful feeling to put on an event for the community and the super help from a large number of volunteers made it the success that it was.”
The event was free to all and the Board would like to personally thank everyone involved in making this happen, a big thank you to The Tramway Army and the Grounds team for their generous donations, the volunteers who helped on the day and to Reg’s Café for providing the food which, as always, was exceptional.
The Board would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and please look out for further events from your local community football club in the future. #wearefestiveunited
