Volunteer Board Directors – Banbury United Football Club

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Commitment: Part-time, voluntary
Reports to: Club Chair
Start Date: As soon as possible

Banbury United Football Club is a proud community‑owned, supporter‑driven club with deep roots in the town and a growing reputation across non‑league football. As we continue to strengthen our governance, commercial performance, and long‑term sustainability, we are seeking committed, skilled, and values‑led individuals to join our Board of Directors.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of a club that represents the very best of Banbury: ambition, inclusivity, and community spirit.

Your Contribution -
Board Directors play a central role in guiding the club’s direction and ensuring we operate with professionalism, transparency, and ambition. Responsibilities include:

  • Helping shape and deliver the club’s long‑term strategy
  • Providing governance oversight and ensuring compliance with league and regulatory standards
  • Supporting commercial growth, partnerships, and revenue generation
  • Championing community engagement and strengthening our supporter experience
  • Bringing specialist expertise to key areas such as finance, legal, commercial, operations, HR, marketing, facilities, or safeguarding
  • Attending monthly board meetings and contributing to club initiatives throughout the season

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in any of the following areas:

  • Finance & Audit
  • Commercial Partnerships & Sponsorship
  • Marketing, Communications & Digital
  • Legal & Governance
  • Operations & Facilities Management
  • HR & People Development
  • Community Engagement & Charity Partnerships
  • Football Operations (non‑technical)

You don’t need to be a football expert — just someone who believes in the power of a community club and wants to help Banbury United thrive on and off the pitch.

We strongly encourage applications from people who bring diversity of background, experience, and perspective.
