Craig joined Coventry City’s academy as a 14 year-old, progressing to be taken on by the Sky Blues as a scholar in the summer of 2020. During his scholarship, Hewitt was a regular for City’s U18 side over two seasons, however he was released at the end of the 21/22 season.
Craig originally joined Banbury in September 2022 where he featured five times for the club and scored two goals. The quick winger scored the winner against Step 3 Coalville in the FA trophy as well as opening the scoring in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup match against Easington sports.

Seeking first team football, Craig dual-registered with North Leigh in March to help the Millers avoid relegation. Despite North Leigh’s eventual relegation, Craig Hewitt impressed in the run in as during his eight games for the club, he found the net three times.
