United began the game well enough but would go behind in the 11th minute when a corner from the right was volleyed home by Jake Harris in plenty of space from eight yards.
From this point onwards Weston controlled the half. On 32 minutes it was 2-0 when a move down the left ended with Corey Williams firing home.
The remainder of the half was comfortable for the home side but not adding to their two goals it remained 2-0 at the break.
Weston had the ball in the back of the net on 53 minutes but the assistant referee’s flag was raised for off-side.
At this point Banbury had their best spell of the game.
On 56 minutes substitute David Lynn stung Luke Purnell’s hands in the Weston goal but United’s best chance would fall to another substitute Leam Howards in the 65th minute who broke through down the left but from a narrow angle he was unable to beat the custodian from eight yards.
Just three minutes later though and the game was effectively sealed by Weston when Harris ran through down the left before slotting the ball home from a narrow angle past Leigh Bedwell.
Banbury finished the game with a good spell over the last ten minutes though by then Weston had already done enough to ensure they would be progressing to the next round.
Whilst Banbury had some good spells in the second half, certainly over the whole of the game the extra quality of the higher level side was clear to see and it was a relatively straight forward passage to the next round for the Conference South side.
