United got off to the best of starts by taking the lead in just the third minute. The goal came from a short corner on the left which saw Darius Browne play a one-two with Mark Bell with the former then taking the ball along the bye-line before crossing low into the centre where Louis Joyce tapped the ball home from close range.

Loughton Manor competed well for the next quarter of an hour but United would make it 2-0 in the 21st minute when good work by Jacob Blackstock down the right set-up Joyce who struck the ball into the net beating Richard Radford at his near post from six yards.

On the half hour mark a corner on the left taken short by Browne to Bell saw him then pass through to Nicholas Kalakoutis who found Joyce who worked his way to the edge of the Loughton six yard box before shooting past Radford to complete his hat-trick.

It was 4--0 in the 36th minute when a cross from the right by Joel Meade was headed home by an unmarked Browne from five yards out.

A minute before the interval United scored their fifth. An interchange of passes down the right between Browne and Bell set the former through on goal who then struck the ball across the goalkeeper into the far corner of the net .

It was of course all over as a contest at half time and it showed after the break for though it was comfortable enough for Banbury, it was the proverbial "non-event" with the final score remaining 5-0.
