A Leam Howards hat-trick and a 3-2 win against Old Bradwell United at Newport Pagnell's ground, following the 4-0 win in the home leg, saw Banbury safely through to the Buckingham Charity Cup final.

There was not a lot between the sides in the opening 25 minutes but United would take the lead in the 28th minute when a deep cross from the left by Michael Hopkins saw Leam Howards get up at the far post and head the ball back across the home custodian with the ball striking the inside of the post before crossing the line into the back of the net.

Old Bradwell United should have equalised in the 39th minute but Bradley House pulled off an excellent save low down to his right from a penalty kick taken by Steve McFadyen. The miss didn't matter though as from the resultant corner kick McFadyen redeemed himself by rising at the far post to head the ball home.

Two minutes into the second half though and Banbury were back in front. Some neat build up play ended with Darius Browne feeding the ball through to Howards who struck the ball past the home goalkeeper from 12 yards.

Though Old Bradwell equalised for the second time in the 65th minute through Barry Rooney, Banbury would win the game with a third goal a quarter of an hour from time. A long ball through from Richard Platt to Howards saw the Banbury striker complete his hat-trick by firing the ball into the roof of the net from ten yards out.

United's superior fitness told in the latter stages and the scoreline on the night could have been more emphatic with substitute Zac McEachran hitting the post with two minutes to go and then Hopkins being denied a goal by an excellent save by the home custodian.
