A goal from Danny Quinn in the 88th minute eventually sealed the win for Hednesford Town in this Red Insure Southern League Cup tie at Keys Park but if it had not been for some excellent goalkeeping from Joe Murrell in the Banbury goal and some woeful finishing from the home forwards the game should have been settled well before this.

Liam Francis scored the opening goal for Hednesford after just two minutes as he headed in a curling Darren Campion free kick from a yard out.

Twice in the opening ten minutes Murrell denied Danny Quinn with excellent goalkeeping. Poor finishing did not though help Hednesford’s cause as Quinn three times was put in by Chris Clements only to shoot wide of the upright and Kyle Patterson put an excellent chance wide on 82 minutes.

The second goal finally game with two minutes to go as Clements was able to tee up Quinn to nod the ball into the net.
