Commanding win for lads at Fritwell

The rain abated just in time for this evening fixture against Heyford Park.
This was the second fixture for the lads within a week, as they continue to learn each others game, and improve as a team.
The squad was rotated once more with players unavailable and/or injured. Once more players were asked to fill a number of positions as we learn what the boys are capable of across the pitch.

The game started brightly, and it wasnt long before we took the lead, some excellent build up play from Will and Mick let to a chance being clinically dispatch by Cian after only 4 minutes 0-1.

In what would prove to be one of only 2 dangerous attacks throughout the game Heyford scored an equaliser.
inexplicably the referee decided to give a freekick to heyford for a back pass. a truly awful decision. That said the boys switched off and were punished as the cross was turned in for 1-1.

Chances came and went for United. Cian forcing a couple of smart saves from the home keeper, whilst tyra poked wide when just beating the keeper to the ball.

The goal that put us infront came on 21 minutes. some good passing through midfield led to the ball reaching Lennon on the edge of the box, he quickly got his shot away which took a nick of the defender and into the bottom corner, 1-2 and no more than we deserved.

The Goal of the game was on 29 minutes, a thunderous long range drive from Jack flew into the top corner, the keeper had absolutely no chance. 1-3.

That was the last action of the first half. Changes were rung in the second period, John, Harry, Myron and Samba all entered the field.
But the team shape changed little, and the flow of the game remained the same at the beginning of the second half.
It was one way traffic as the lads took charge.

The next goal came on 44 minutes. a nice through ball through the heart of the defence and a clever run from John left him one-on-one with the keeper. John kept his composure excellently to round the keeper and knock the ball into the back of the net. 1-4.

The fifth goal came quickly after. A great run and cutback from Cian, was helped on by Lennon to John who hit a first time left footed shot in off the post. A really good team goal 1-5.

Heyford briefly threatened, a nice move down the left hand side resulted in a shot coming in at goal, Myron got an excellent fingertip to it to deflect onto the post, and the defence which was controlled throughout cleared the danger.

On 53 Minutes John completed his second half hat-trick. a excellent cross into the box was met by John with his head. The keeper kept it out well but John knocked in the rebound for 1-6.

The scoring was completed in the 61st Minute. After the keeper had turned a Tyra free-kick around the post for a corner, the resulting corner, again deliverd by tyra was perfect and met superbly on the head by Cian to nod in his second and the teams 7th.

A really good runout for the boys, some excellent performances all round.
