Semi Final
Banbury United 0 Bullingdon 0 - (Banbury United won 4-3 on penalties)
the semi final was a very close game, which we just shaded overall. Both defences were on top and chances were at a premium, which meant the game would go to penalties. Lennon, Nathan, Aidan and Jack F all converting brilliantly from the spot, and with Nathan saving one, and the opposition hitting one high over the bar. The lads progressed to the final!
Final
The final was played against Oxford City. The lads had already beaten them in the group stage, and confidence was high that we could do the same again. With the match only around 5 minutes old, an Oxford City player went down with a leg injury. An ambulance was called, and after a lengthy delay it was decided that the game would be abandoned. A real shame for such a competitive tournament to end the way it did with no winner, but the players welfare is always most important.
News received this morning was good! The injured player had not sustained any break, and was back home, with recovery time expected to be quick.
